The month of May is clean-up month. For the month of May only, without additional charge, the City will pick up all large, bulky items, with the exception of loose leaves, dirt, building materials and tree limbs exceeding four feet in length and eight inches in diameter. The eight-bag limit will be lifted and the City will pick up as many bags as are placed behind the curb. The Montgomery Clean City Commission will be supplying trash bags for neighborhood clean-ups. They are also asking people in District Nine to report to the Montgomery Clean City Commission any overgrown or unsightly areas. It would also greatly benefit your district if your association members would adopt a clean-up project during this time. For more information, please call Montgomery Clean City Commission at 625-2175.
The EMNA is supporting the change in PUD Zoning to be voted on at the January 23 meeting of the Planning Commission. This change would include a requirement that no bars or lounges could be located within 250 feet of a residential property line. This is an issue that many neighborhoods have to deal with and changing the zoning requirements will make a difference. Attached is a letter the EMNA will be sending to the Planning Commission members to show our support.
Also attached is a Bulletin that has been circulated within Somerset which will give you a little more information.
We encourage members to attend the Planning Commission meeting on January 23 at 5:00 pm.
